Providing home care is a big responsibility. Whether the patient is elderly, recovering from surgery, or managing a long-term illness, caregiver safety measures ensure comfort, health, and reduced risks. Here are the most important guidelines every caregiver must follow.
1. Hygiene & Sanitation Safety
- Wash hands before and after patient contact
- Use gloves, mask (if needed), and sanitizers
- Maintain clean bedding, clothes, and room
- Disinfect commonly touched surfaces daily
- Keep medical equipment properly sanitized
2. Medication Safety
- Follow doctor’s prescription strictly
- Use a medicine chart for reminders
- Avoid giving extra doses
- Store medicines in a dry and safe place

- Always support patient while walking
